Trial objectives / Assortment
Although not ideal for commercial use, it was decided not to change anything in the way of packing, processing, harvesting etc of each company, in order to get a good idea and information how each participants would perform with it’s current way of processing flowers. In order to receive a maximum of information and a wide range of different flowers, there was chosen to work with flowers from the 2 different main areas of flower production in Colombia being Rionegro and Bogotá. Although recommended differently, most of the participants send mixed boxes with flowers without any kind of neither indication nor specification on the weight, the colour and the length of the flowers inside. This is based on the American system and their way of working. Furthermore different sleeves were used in order to see if and what might be the difference.
